As Hurricane Ian was causing devastation in the province of Pinar del Río, over 37,000 accounts on Twitter replicated the hashtag #CubaPaLaCalle (Cuba to the streets) calling for mass protests. However, less than 2% of the users who participated in this virtual mobilization were in Cuba.

‘Without culture’, Fidel Castro Ruz said, ‘freedom is not possible’. Culture is essential to the dignity of all human beings. For this reason, the Cuban Revolution helped return high art forms like ballet to the people.
